Lead Pre-K Teacher
Our Lead Pre-K Teacher and Administrator, Beth Christofferson, grew up right here on Mercer Island. Beth comes to us with a teaching background having worked with social/emotional behavior needs kindergarten students for two years at Island Park Elementary then taking on teaching first grade there for five years. After serving on the Parent Board and putting her first child through Pixie Hill, Beth is delighted to join and support a fabulous team of teachers. Beth, and her husband, Dane, enjoy spending time with their two children, traveling, playing sports, and spending time with family.
3's Program Teacher
Ms. Melissa grew up in Seattle and has lived on Mercer Island for 7 years with her husband and two children. Melissa earned her Teaching Certificate and Masters in Education from UW returning home after earning her undergraduate degree at UCSB. Melissa taught first and second grades at Picnic Point Elementary in the Mukilteo School District for 9 years and 3 years at the Multiple Intelligence Academy, a multi-age preschool before moving to Mercer Island. Her son Will is a Pixie alum and Melissa served on the Parent Board during his time as a Pixie. Melissa loves spending time with her kids Sophie (13), Will (9), her husband Chris and her puppy Lulu. They all love to be outside, playing sports and being active together.
3's Program Teacher
Ms. Ricca lives in Mercer Island but grew up nearby in Bellevue. Ricca holds a K-8 teaching certificate with endorsements in early childhood education and psychology. Most recently she taught in the Issaquah School District for 7-8 years before staying home with her first child. Ricca and her husband have two daughters and love hiking, walking my dogs , biking, as well as baking and watching movies.
Margaret grew up right here on Mercer Island! She joins Pixie Hill with a Masters in Education and Psychology as well as a career as a Mental Health Practitioner. She has worked with a variety of ages ranging from 3-16 years old and has a strong background working in schools, hospitals and clinic's within the Seattle area. She has led many social skills groups focusing on ADHD, self-esteem building, parenting groups, conflict mediation, as well as play-art therapy. Margaret and her husband, Boris, have 4 children and a dog, named Bentley! She enjoys being active and enjoys spending time with her kids skiing, playing tennis and golf, biking, reading, cooking, gardening and playing board games.
